The hook
Empty trucks are costing our farmers money. We spent 24 hours building a way to fix it.
The weekend
Just finished my first-ever overnight hackathon at Ship or Be Shipped, hosted by Build and Ship Philippines at the Kaya Founders offices.
Together with Edward, Eduardo, and Abby, we built Hakot—an AI-powered logistics marketplace connecting farmers and truck drivers to streamline operations, reduce empty backhauls, and make agricultural transport more efficient.
Results
Zero sleep and three pivots later, Hakot stood out among 80+ participants and took 1st Runner-Up.
Huge thanks to all the mentors for the advice—and to Build and Ship Philippines for organizing such an inspiring, high-energy event.
The problem we were solving
Farmers and operators often run empty backhauls while produce still needs to move. Hakot makes those trips easier to see and match—fewer wasted miles, better farm-to-market flow.
